Kurt Cobain would have been 40 today. Think of all the amazing tunes he might have written by now if he were still alive. It’s damn depressing.

Hope you all smelled a little teen spirit in honor of him today.

I am compiling a list of some of my favorite films of all time…here’s a start, in no particular order:

Well this was the annual day when couples celebrate being in love and ignoring the fact that half of them probably hate each other. It was the day when newly-in-love couples vomit cheese over each other and then lap it up like little puppy dogs. It was the day when singles either are depressed about not having someone to vomit cheese all over, or they are reminded of how nice it is to be SINGLE. I fit into that last category. I’m very, very content with being single at this stage in my life. God knows I’d love a little *ahem* now and then, but I’ve got school to keep my mind of such things, right?

Ok I’ll shut up now. I finished editing my “practice” edit in my short film class this week. We had to edit a scene from an AFI student project. The one I did was originally edited by Springfield’s own, Byron Smith, who graduated a few years ago from MSU and got a job editing for shows like nip/tuck, Big Love, and his recently he edited his first feature film, Running With Scissors. Anyway, it was fun and extremely challenging, but I am very happy with how it turned out. It was nice because I had 2 people helping me – one for titles and one for sound, since editors don’t usually do that part of post-production. Teamwork is awesome, especially when you have reliable people.

I start shooting my friend Ed’s film this weekend. I am so frickin excited. I’m the gaffer, so I’ll be getting my hands dirty. Can’t wait. I also am working on a website for the film: The Last Romantic. Check it out! We’ll have production stills and more up there in the following months.
